Poems Read at Inauguration Ceremonies for US Presidents

Sonnets Read at Inauguration Ceremonies for US Presidents Verse appears to be so normal an incorporation in open service that you may be astounded to discover that it was almost 200 years after the absolute first Presidential pledge of office was taken by George Washington before an artist was remembered for the official initiation procedures. There are two or three nineteenth century sonnets generally connected with Presidential initiations in the chronicles of the Library of Congress, yet nor was really perused during the swearing-in function: â€Å"An Ode in Honor of the Inauguration of Buchanan Breckinridge, President and Vice President of the United States† by Col W. Emmons, imprinted on broadside in 1857.â€Å"An Inaugural Poem, Dedicated to Abraham Lincoln, of Illinois, and Andrew Johnson, of Tennessee,† from The Chronicle Junior, an introduction program that was really imprinted on a press in a cart during Lincoln’s debut march in 1865. The Introduction of Poetry in the Presidential Inauguration Robert Frost was the primary artist welcomed to be a piece of the official swearing-in of an American president when John F. Kennedy got down to business in 1961. Ice really composed another sonnet for the event, a reality that appears to be somewhat odd thinking about his expressed repugnance for composing sonnets on commission. It was a not-awfully great sonnet called â€Å"Dedication† that he proposed as a prelude to the more seasoned sonnet Kennedy had initially mentioned, yet on Inauguration Day, conditions mediated †the glare of brilliant daylight off new day off, swoon typescript and the breeze unsettling his pages and his white hair made it inconceivable for Frost to peruse the new sonnet, so he surrendered the endeavor and went legitimately into presenting Kennedy’s demand without the introduction. â€Å"The Gift Outright† traces the narrative of American freedom in its 16 lines, in a triumphant, energetic tone that infers the nineteenth century pri nciple of show fate and control of the mainland. Not surprisingly, Frost’s sonnet is focused on an objective less regular than it initially shows up. â€Å"The land was our own before we were the land’s,† however we became Americans not by overcoming this spot, yet by giving up to it. We ourselves, the individuals of America, are the endowment of the poem’s title, and â€Å"The deed of blessing was numerous deeds of war.† At Kennedy’s demand, Frost transformed single word in the last line of the sonnet, to reinforce the assurance of its expectation for America’s future â€Å"Such as she seemed to be, for example, she would become† became â€Å"Such as she might have been, for example, she will become.† You can watch NBC News inclusion of the whole 1961 introduction service at Hulu.comâ if you’re ready to endure promotions embedded at 7-to 10-minute stretches in the hour-long video †Frost’s recitation is in the center, preceding Kennedy’s pledge of office. The following president who remembered an artist for the procedures encompassing his initiation was Jimmy Carter in 1977, yet the sonnet didn’t make it into the genuine swearing-in function. James Dickey read his sonnet â€Å"The Strength of Fields† at the Kennedy Center function after Carter’s initiation. It was an additional 16 years before verse entered again into the official initiation function. That was in 1993, when Maya Angelou composed and read â€Å"On the Pulse of Morning† for Bill Clinton’s first initiation, her perusing here on YouTube. Clinton likewise remembered an artist for his 1997 debut service †Miller Williams contributed â€Å"Of History and Hope† that year. The custom of presidential initiation sonnets appears to be presently to have settled in with Democratic presidents. Elizabeth Alexander was dispatched as debut writer for Barack Obama’s first initiation in 2009. She composed â€Å"Praise Song for the Afternoon, Praise Song for Struggle† for the event, and her recitation is safeguarded on YouTube. For Obama’s second introduction function in 2013, Richard Blancoâ was requested to submit three sonnets to the White House, which chose â€Å"One Today† for him to peruse following the President’s debut address. Blanco’s execution at the platform is additionally posted on YouTube.

Dickens and his Stucture Of Hard Times Essay -- essays research papers

â€Å"On each page Hard Times shows its way of life as a polemical work, a scrutinize of Mid-Victorian mechanical society overwhelmed by realism, avarice, and mercilessly serious entrepreneur economics† (Lodge 86). The citation above outlines the reason for Hard Times. Charles Dickens presents in his novel a particular structure to uncover the disasters and maltreatment of the Victorian Era. Dickens’ utilization of plot and portrayal relate legitimately to the structure on account that it shows his perspective on the abuses and disasters of the Victorian Era, alongside his push to uncover them through abstract strategies. Open Forum Monday

Open Forum Monday Todays post is a bit different from my regular posts. As we get closer to application deadlines I know that your anxiety level is on the incline. As a way to help with your tension headaches, I propose the following: instead of me posting a topic and you responding, lets make a list of questions that you feel you REALLY need answers to ASAP. Here are the rules: Make sure your question is general enough to be of help to others that read the Blogs. (If it is VERY specific to you please send me an off-line email.) Limit yourself to no more than TWO questions. (One question with two parts = two questions.) The one question with 34 parts? FORGETABOUTIT! If someone else asks the question that you were going to ask, let me know. Those will be the questions that I answer first. Finally (for this week only) Ill batch the questions and reply twice daily. So to get this started, Ill post a question that I received many times while on the road: What do I do at the EC interview? Why is it important? Are MIT interviews at all like the one in the movie Risky Business? (Not really a question I got on the road, but humorous nonetheless.) Lets see what youve got!

Community Experience At An Alcoholics Anonymous ( Aa )

Community Experience Paper How you found the process (the ease/difficulty) of accessing your group. For the consumer, what might be challenges in finding and/or following through with going and committing to the group you went to? (Discuss potential practical and/or psychological obstacles.) I attended an Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meeting on Tuesday, April 28th at 6:00 pm at the St. Francis Medical Center (SFMC) conference room 5. I found the process of accessing the group I attended easy. I used the website: http://coloradospringsaa.org/find-a-meeting. By entering a few parameters, I was able to locate a meeting within a few miles of my house. For the consumer, the challenge might not be in finding a location to meet their needs but simply following through and committing to attend a meeting. The meeting does not hold its members accountable for their presence (i.e., no attendance is taken). Participation is solely comprised of the self-dedication on the part of those maintaining sobriety. Moreover, attending a meeting is a lifelong commitment. This may pose as a hindrance or tedious task to devote time away from work, social, or family commitments. A client may easily persuade themselves out of going in light of a more appealing alternative. Describe what the group’s purpose is. Was the stated purpose clear (written and/or verbally stated) and was that consistent with the experience you had? Was there a focus topic during your group? If so, what was that topic?Show MoreRelatedAlcoholics Anonymous An Open Meeting1188 Words   |  5 PagesAlcoholics Anonymous an Open Meeting Dominique Steinburg describes mutual aid as a process through which people develop collaborative, supportive, and trustworthy relationships; identify and use existing strengths and/or to develop new ones; and work together toward individual and/or collective psychosocial goals. For most of history, the ideal female body was plump and voluptuous. This was before the neolithic people settled down and created some of the first civilizations. Women with large hips w ere â€Å"valued† because it meant that birth would be easier for them. They had â€Å"birthing hips† as they are called today. This meant there was a higher chance that there wouldn t be complications during birth. When civilizations started to take root and grow, body images began to change. Pizza Store Layout Simulation Apply the Learning Curve Theory Free Essays

A learning curve, in common terms, â€Å"is used to describe the effort required to acquire a new skill (e. g. , expertise with a new tool) over a specific period of time† Wikipedia. We will write a custom essay sample on Pizza Store Layout Simulation: Apply the Learning Curve Theory or any similar topic only for you Order Now org. In scholarly terms, â€Å"Learning curves are also an integral part in planning corporate strategy, such as decisions concerning pricing, capital investment, and operating costs based on experience curves† Chase-Jacobs-Aquilano. In the pizzeria scenario presented requires a full understanding of the cause and effect of decisions made and making adjustments to minimize the amount of time to complete the entire process and also minimizing the amount of potential customers from leaving. To streamline the process, it is important to recognize the transformations of the business as it moves along the entire learning curve when each scenario is considered and acted upon. Measuring the process of serving pizza The pizzeria has been in business since 1950 and has become a recognizable mainstay in Palm Springs, CA for its quality and uniqueness. As the business is being passed down, it is important for the successor to recognize the learning curve and understand the restaurant as it functions today. During peak times, the pizzeria staffs four wait staff and two kitchen workers. With customers arriving in groups of two to four every three to five minutes there are only 14 4-top tables, but no 2-top tables to seat each party. The entire process from when a customer walks into the pizzeria to the time they leave takes 53 minutes. Eleven of the minutes are consumed just waiting to be seated at an open table and another 13 minutes are consumed back in the kitchen processing the order – room for improvement. Applying the learning curve theorem By turning four of the 4-tops into eight 2-tops, it increases the total tables available at the pizzeria from 14 to 18 and effectively reduces the average wait time to 5. 27 minutes. The additional tables also allow the utilization of the wait staff to a manageable and profitable 87%. The observations and learning’s of the first two weeks have allowed the pizzeria to become more efficient, reduce the amount of time customers have to wait, reduced the amount of customers who have â€Å"balked† and left before they could be served and has increased the profit from $1065 to $1653. Identifying process weaknesses The Pizzeria has incorporated key improvements from observations of the process. Unfortunately, it is necessary to invest in capital with newer more advanced systems in order to sustain the growth. In this case, the four manual ovens are beginning to hinder the current process and the wait staff has become less effective. So by replacing the four manual ovens with two automated conveyor ovens from Plax reduced the mean processing time to four minutes and by installing the MenuPoint system has reduced the mean processing time for the wait staff to eight minutes. The average wait time now in the pizzeria is only 4. 4 minutes with an average queue time of only 2. 63 minutes. Expanding on what’s been learned The Pizzeria is experiencing, as I have heard it called, â€Å"A champagne problem† increased potential business – which, is good, but how to handle it? In this case, the location next to the Pizzeria, Cream Puffs, is closing and offers a perfect opportunity to expand the Pizzeria by seven more 4-tops and four more 2-tops. This reduces the wa iting time even further to an average of 3. 47 minutes with an average queue of 2. 7 minutes. Conclusion Mario and his wife Sofia have done an outstanding job building the business since 1950, however; there was much more opportunity available for the Pizzeria to run more efficient and generate a greater profit. Mario’s successor became more familiar with maintaining a balance between the customer demand for the service and the capacity of the system to provide the service. His management of the Pizzeria became more effective and processes became more efficient as he moved along the learning curve. Monkey King is indeed rebellious, being in fact no Essay Example For Students

Monkey King is indeed rebellious, being in fact no Essay t an ordinary being. He was born out of a rock, fertilized by the grace of Heaven, according to the story. Being extremely smart and capable, he learned all the magic tricks and kung fu from a master Taoist. Now he can transform himself into seventy-two different images such as a tree, a bird, a beast of prey or a bug as small as a mosquito so as to sneak into an enemys belly to fight him or her inside out. Using clouds as a vehicle he can travel 180,000 miles a single somersault. He claims to be king in defiance of the only authority over heaven, the seas, the earth and the subterranean world Yu Huang Da Di, or the Great Emperor of Jade in Chinese. That act of high treason, coupled with complaints from the masters of the four seas and the hell, invites the relentless scourge of the Heavenly army. In fact, the monkey had fought into the seas and grabbed the crown treasure of the Neptune kingdom: a huge iron bar that supposedly serves as a ballast of the seas and can expand or shrink at its owners command. That became the monkeys favorite weapon in his later feats. With that weapon, he went down into hell and threatened the helly king to spare his and his followers mortal life so that they all enjoy eternity. After many showdowns, the dove faction of the heavenly court persuaded the emperor to offer the monkey an official title to appease him. The monkey accepted the offer on a trial basis. However, he learned a few days later that he was cheated and being jeered all over the heavenly court: the position he held was nothing but a stable keeper. Enraged he revolted, fighting all his way back earth to resume his own claim as a king. Eventually, the heavenly army subdued him, only after many a battle, with the help of all the god warriors. However, all methods of execution failed. Having a bronze head and iron shoulders, the monkey dulled many a sword inflicted upon him. As a last resort, the emperor commanded he be burned in the furnace where his Taoist minister Tai Shang Lao Jun refines his pills of immortality. Instead of killing him, the fire and smoke added to the monkey a pair of fiery golden crystal eyes that can see through what people normally cannot. He fought his way down again. At last, the emperor asked Buddha for help. The Buddha moved a great mountain known as the Mount of Five Fingers to fall upon him. Still, the tenacious monkey survived the enormous weight and pressure. Only that he could not move. Five hundred years later, there came to his rescue the Tang Monk, Xuan Zang, whom we mentioned at the beginning of the story. To insure that the monk could make for the West to get the sutras, Buddha had arranged for the Monkey King to become his disciple and escort him, along with two other disciples they later came across, (actually also arranged by the Buddha). One is the humorous and not uncourageous pig transgressed from a heavenly general for his crime of assaulting a fairy, and the other a used-to-be sea monster. There the four started their stormy journey west which was packed with actions and adventures that brought into full play the puissance of the monks disciples, the Monkey King in particular. ), Opens with the birth from a stone egg of Monkey, who progresses from becoming the King of the Monkeys on the Mountain of Flowers and Fruit, to achieving supernatural Daoist skills. Bounding through the skies on clouds, he creates havoc on his visits to heaven in the vain hope of achieving ever-higher celestial office. .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a , .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .postImageUrl , .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a , .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a:hover , .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a:visited , .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a:active { border:0!important; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a:active , .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u29d2bc72edc8f1ecc1b32a17d862265a:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: on keeping fit, the shor Essay Having eaten the peaches of immortality specially grown for the banquet to be held by the Heavenly Queen Mother of the West, and upset the Jade Emperor and other deities, he is finally incarcerated beneath the Mountain of the Five Elements by the Buddha. Do not let this current recession deceive you; someone with a college degree is prone to financial security. Out of a population of nearly seven billion people, there is a select few who are extremely talented to the point where that talent can provide luxurious life; fewer people hit the lottery, it is nearly impossible to match all six numbers and all of us have tried. It is clear, a long, stress free, successful life will have to be earned through college unless you either have an extraordinary talent or hit the lottery. Success does not come easy or cheap, college requires a lot of dedication, effort, and money (unless you receive a grant or a full scholarship, which is just as hard as hitting the lottery). However, over your life time, you will be paid back twenty times over for attending college, proving college pays off. In essence, college is vital to how far in life you can go. College will lead you to a life of fulfillment and realized dreams. No one ever regretted going to college, I wish I could say the same for the person who didn’t.

Huckleberry Finn Essays (811 words) - Fiction, Literature

Huckleberry Finn Essays (811 words) - Fiction, Literature Huckleberry Finn The idea Miss Watson has of Huck Finn being a dirty, nasty, vulgar little boy who smokes, swears, and stays away from Sunday school is not a justifiable description of him. Hucks character goes much deeper. Huck is a literal-minded, imaginative, trustworthy boy who is greatly impacted by the inhuman ways of society. His society driven conscience is in constant conflict with his free, loyal heart. A mind of the greatest literalness is represented by Huck and what he calls his conscience. Hucks conscience is the belief in the inhuman rights of slave owners not to be deprived of their property. Hucks conscience is a portrayal of the moral values of society. The idea of slavery is drilled by society into every one of its members, including the otherwise free tramp like Huck- and the natural, human rights of Jim. Hucks heart follows the opposite views of his conscience. Huck has been listening to Jims excited talk about what he will do when he is free and it has disturbed what Huck calls his conscience. Conscience says to me, What had poor Miss Watson dont to you that you could see her nigger go off right under your eyes and never say one single word? What did that poor women do to you that you could treat her so mean? (92) Jim, as a man, has the right to be free. Huck does not realize this because of the views society has instilled in him. Jim has the right to love his wife and yearn for his children. Jim has the determination to work and save up his money and never spend a scent in order to buy his children out of slavery. The final plan he considers, getting an Ablitionist to go and steal (93) his children if their owner refuses to sell them. The consideration of this plan is a shock to Hucks conscience that awakens him to the wickedness of consorting with Jim and helping him run away from the society-conforming Miss Watson. Miss Watson holds Jim in chattel slavery and Huck in the more subtle slavery of civilized conduct. Hucks conscience is thus badly shaken by Jims wicked talk of stealing his children from an innocent owner. He decides that it is his moral duty to betray Jim. This decision is a great relief to him, and the minute they sight a town he sets off in the canoe to find somebody to capture Jim. Unluckily, as he is leaving Jim says to him, Ise a free man, en I couldnt ever been free ef it hadnt been for Huckyous de bes fren Jims ever had; en yous de only fren ole Jims got now (93). This innocent expression of human affection and gratitude is very ill-timed for Huck; as he says, I was paddling off, all in a sweat to tell on him; but when he says this it seemed to kind of take the tuck all out of me (93). As a result, when on some men in a canoe who are actually looking for runaway slaves Huck finds he is not man enough to betray Jim. This explains Hucks loyalty and dedication to keeping his promise to Jim- his promise not to turn Jim in for escaping slavery. Instead he finds himself inventin g and performing with great skill a complicated lie that persuades the men in the canoe not to go near the raft where Jim is hiding: he makes them believe- he never says so himself- that there are three people with small pox on the raft. Not only does this illustrate that Huck has a great level of imagination it shows the he has a profound knowledge of human nature. This knowledge allows him to create stories, which play upon the selfishness and pettiness of society. He is deeply discouraged to find himself acting this way, as if he hadnt the spunk of a rabbit (94). I knowed very well, he says, that I had done wrong, and I see it warnt no use for me to try to learn to do right; a body that dont get started right when hes little aint got no show- when the pinch comes

Ethics & Morality in the Health Professions Essay

Ethics & Morality in the Health Professions - Essay Example Such situations are termed as â€Å"ethical dilemmas†. The ethical principles guide the doctor or any health professional in moving forward in his act of decision-making in a more virtuous manner which is best in the interest of the patient. Moreover, the code of ethics is also designed to describe restriction of the health professionals which are applicable at a certain point of their medical practice. The main objective of every physician should be providing their patients with the best of medical help and cause no harm to their health. One significant ethical issue is the freedom of choice that is given to the patients which is termed as autonomy. The autonomy literally means self-governance which is explained as the right of the patients to choose what is best for them after they have been clarified about the harms and benefits related to any medical procedure. The term informed consent elaborates this notion. It describes the act of deciding for oneself after acknowledgin g all the relevant information. However, there are certain conditions where the person might not act in this manner. These cases include the lack of adequate understanding and education of the person or if the information is concealed from that person. Although the right of autonomy is recognized widely and every measure is taken to provide this privilege to the patient but in some conditions the intervention of the health professional

The investigation will help the organization to investigate unexpected problems and indicate where gaps exist within the organization. This part of the plan will aid in establishing the level of need, and come up with a plan to mitigate the need by considering the kind of training that will be most appropriate (Brown, 2002). Staff Acquisition The top management in the firm will negotiate with functional and department managers to identify and assign resources in line with the firms project organization structure. In addition, the plan will identify external sources and mechanisms to hire new project sources, and allow an approval of the project works. The upgrade of the management system will include alliancing with the vendor, in corroboration with the human resource management team. Nonetheless, the vendor will need to transfer his expertise to the staff to ensure the transition of the project transpires (Brown, 2002). Conclusion The strategic human resource plan will go a long way in helping the Family Medical Group of Companies archive its goals. The process will act as the link between the management of the organization and the overall strategic plan of the plan. The strategic plan will aid the organization in meeting their mission, help the organization assess the current human resource capacities, foresee the requirement of the organization, analyze gaps, and come up with strategies that support organization strategies. Examination of Clinical Psychology Essay

Clinical psychology has a full history that dates back to the early days of Greek philosophy. The combination of philosophy, current psychology and science has created a specific discipline in clinical psychology. Research continues to improve and evolve this branch of psychology. There are certain distinctions that set clinical psychology apart from other areas of this discipline and this paper will explore not only those distinctions but also the history of clinical psychology. The History of Clinical Psychology The beginnings of psychology in general can be found in the era of Greek philosophy. Early philosophical thinkers saw the connection between the mind and body including the influence that relationship had concerning emotional sickness. Hippocrates, Plato, and Aristotle were a few of those that recognized the soul or spirit as being the primary force of the body. They also recognized that problems within the soul could manifest in physical illness (Plante, 2011, p. 34). In the middle ages, any kind of mental, emotional or physical sickness was thought to be characteristic of sin or evil and treatments of such issues were dealt with on a spiritual level. The following Renaissance era was all about scientific research and discovery taking the previous beliefs on spiritual origins and disproving them. Illness was established as something more explainable by scientific research rather than spiritual and metaphysical beliefs (Plante, 2011). As the nineteenth century rolled in, members of psychological study started to have a more accurate understanding of the connection between the body and mind. Sigmund Freud was one such forward thinker and he promoted theories that unconscious thoughts of the mind can hold a strong influence on one’s health drawing on the original beliefs of the Greeks (Parsons, 1958). The actual emergence of psychology began with the development of the first laboratory and book of psychology by Wilhelm Wundt. Development was quick after this first large step even though the new concepts and principles of psychology were being applied to peoples’ issues. Also the wars of our history provided a platform for the world of clinical psychology. Service members emerged in war required specialized treatments which led to the development of psychometric assessments. Later developments led to the creation of evolved models of guidelines and training for the education of clinical psychologists (Plante, 2011). Clinical Psychology’s Evolving Nature Clinical psychology has a fundamental instrument that develops its evolving nature which is described by its relationship with modern medicine and used of scientific methods (Kazdin, 2008). Clinical psychology continues to develop applications as new scientific evidence mounts. Contemporary clinical psychology embodies the scientific advances of science mixing in a deep understanding of the mind. The relationship of practice and research continue to come together to facilitate continual improvements in treatments and this relationship is a necessary element to the evolving nature (Kazdin, 2008). The only possible challenge for clinical psychology and research is the challenge of trying to customize treatment to meet the patient’s individual needs when there really is no defined outline of every individualistic need for each individual patient (Kazdin, 2008 p. 17). The Role of Research and Statistics in Clinical Psychology Research is a vital aspect of any psychology and clinical psychology is no different. Research provides the empirical foundation to answer questions with validity. Statistics is a vital part of this research since this area of the research facilitates researchers being able to conclude if the information is substantial and relevant. Research is also vital because to clinical psychology because it boosts therapy methods which leads to the improvement of one’s life and it also helps discover effective methods to diagnose and treat human behavioral issues (Plante, 2011). The scientific method of empirical study also benefits the researchers themselves enabling them to gain critical thinking skills. Research is one of the most fundamental practices that allows for the betterment of clinical psychology (Plante, 2011). Clinical Psychology as it Differs from Other Disciplines The primary differences between other disciplines and clinical psychology involve the targeted training, area of focus and possibly even the educational requirements. Some psychologists participating in the area of clinical diagnosis, such as a school psychologist or social worker, generally must earn a master’s degree but other specialized areas of clinical psychology might require a doctorate (Plante, 2011). School psychologists also specialize primarily in working with children and society’s youth whereas social workers can serve a more broad population and work in hospitals, schools or even county programs. Areas of counseling psychology are very similar to clinical psychology and there is the belief that the two separate groups do not even need to exist separately (Kazdin, 2008). There are also psychiatrists who have the added, extensive education and training in the medical arena and for all intended purposes they are physicians. They not only counsel as psychologists but are allowed to issue psychiatric medicine. Then there are other various mental health care professionals such as psychiatric nurses, specialized counselors, and industry and organization counselors who all provide clinical services. Even though clinical psychology differs in some aspects from other counseling professions, all of them have the purpose of using psychological principles to understand human behavior, helping individuals to live healthier and happier lives (Plante, 2011). Conclusion As this paper has laid out, there are many various contributions to the formation of clinical psychology becoming its own discipline. The evolution has traveled a long road but it has been steady and continuous with new information being discovered through scientific methods. Philosophy kicked off the curiosity that lead to future contributions by pioneers such as Freud and his psychoanalytic methods. Clinical psychology does hold its differences amongst other disciplines of psychology but the overall goal of all disciplines still remains to serve the general human population, attempting to give everyone a chance at a better quality of life. Air force fume billboard Essay

Air force fume billboard Introduction   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   In 1943 John Garfield, John Ridgley, Gig Young â€Å"The troop of an Air Force† bomber disembark in the Harbor in the outcome of the Japanese assault and is mailed on to Manila to provide a hand with the attack of the Philippines (Suids, 1996).   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   There are observable characteristics, which attract customers to the product. Basing our argument on the above film are lifestyles, standards, color, physical appearance, taste, motivations, opinion, and desires. These take account of distinctiveness such as cheerful, preservationist, and safety-cognizant, value-oriented, class-driven. In our case, color attracts ones attention such that the distant-customers move closer.   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Color information is supportive in identifying objective. It can be, sometimes, misleading. One of the tribulations with regard to images is the equivalent objects might have dissimilar colors and intensities when the illumination situation changes or there are dimness. It occurs predominantly often in our assignment. The billboard images for patterns were taken independently in a different circumstance from the unambiguous game in the video progression. However, in the live match dissemination, the lighting condition is diverse and they even revolutionize often during the match (Toyoshima, (2008).   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Furthermore, there are numerous shadows caused by the players ahead of the billboards. When we to make use of the template color as the sample color and try to come across areas with the related color in the edge. The tolerant level is sky-scraping, a lot of gratuitous area will be incorporated and the diminution in searching area is not very considerable; on the other hand, if the lenient level is low, we have the risk of ignoring the main area. The brightly brown color captures awareness to the customers. The billboards exhibit great advertisements to fleeting pedestrians and even drivers. Characteristically, screening outsized, apparently amusing slogans, and distinguishing visuals. The billboards are exceedingly noticeable in the summit in market places. The bulletins are the leading modern-size billboards. They are located mainly on major highway, expressway and market zones to attract or capture peoples’ attention (Toyoshima, 2008)   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   More so, imagery as a stylistic device applies during advertisement. For instance, â€Å"AIR FORCE† here implies war. This is the war of the crew against the Japanese as explained on synopsis. This type of film designed in such a way that it entails different styles. Since it is in a class of luxury has to be standard and specially designed to reach the test of customers. Primarily a good copy communicates to the ideal clients. In this case, the copy creates a great physical impression to the customers. In so doing more, sales are systematical done due to its unique appearance on the customers’ eyes (Suid, 2002).   Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚  Ã‚   Addition to that, customers like a description on the product in the market. Therefore, the synopsis contained on the copy gives customer detailed-evidence information in the copy. Furthermore, copywriter includes power words, which are very patting to the clients. ssOccasionally, these words are termed as power words which a very influential to the customer. They are advisable to apply in the language. In the above copy, â€Å"AIR FORCE† is an example of power words. Edges are very noteworthy illustration features in image processing. They are the points with high passion contrast and portray margins of objects contained in an image. Using periphery information of a copy also significantly condenses the amount of data while preserving the essential structural properties of an image. This gives a good impression to sight hence encouraging more purchases (Toyoshima, 2008). References Suid, L. H. (1996). Sailing on the silver screen: Hollywood and the US Navy. Ethics and Morality Essay - 1347 Words

Ethics and Morality Is it immoral for a person to write lies on his/her resume? This question poses many questions in its self. How fictitious is the lie, what are you lying about, what could be the consequences of this lie and whom and how will this lie affect the people involved? How would John Stuart Mill answer this question? Mills general position seem to be that one should do what will produce the most happiness, pleasure and with the absence of pain. With this in mind for one to falsify their resume will produce the greater happiness to that person, and family. If this means to exaggerate the truth a little so be it. I feel Mills view would be to exaggerate, but not to over exaggerate so that when you do get the job you†¦show more content†¦This he felt is how most live. According to Mill morality is about producing good consequences, not having good intentions, we should do what ever will bring the most benefit to all humanity. Also that our conduct is right or wrong because of the pro pensity to produce good or bad consequences for the people whom are affected by it. Mills moral philosophy was a version of the utilitarian theory. In witch he believed that righteous actions are those actions that produce the greatest happiness to the largest number of people, following from his Principal of Utility. Since Mill believes that it is not the intention of an action and it is the ability for the action to produce favorable consequences. It follows that for some one to exaggerate on their resume is morally ok. As with Mills Principal of utility, witch is saying if the action produces the greatest amount of happiness to the most people with the least amount of pain that to is morally ok when compared with the utilitarian theory. It seems to that Mill is trying to say that if more than one-person benefits from what might be considered an immoral action, also that the least amount of pain is cause then that action can be consider morally ok as long as the consequences of th atShow MoreRelatedEthics, Morality, And Morality2531 Words   |  11 PagesEthics and morality may initially seem to be interchangeable words used to describe a code of conduct that society should follow in order to make informed decisions.
